Caresse Sakagawa, Chief Marketing & Product Officer at Providence Health Plan (PHP) brings a dedication to service and passion for authentic human connection to the Board of Directors of Portland Metro Non-Profit, Central City Concern (CCC).
Committed to ending homelessness, CCC supports more than 13,000 people annually by helping each person to become self-sufficient and productive with a compassionate, boots-on-the-ground approach to community wellbeing. In June 2023, Providence Health Plan named Central City Concern an official community partner as part of the plan’s Health For All initiative – a shared pursuit to care for one another equitably, recognize the cultural challenges in healthcare today, and improve outcomes for all.
“Central City Concern has a deeply positive impact on our Portland Metro area community,” said Sakagawa. “They are quite literally on our streets helping solve for the acute needs of the most vulnerable populations, constantly advocating for those that need it most.”
“Central City Concern and Providence Health Plan have both worked for years to promote health equity in the Portland community. We are honored that Caresse Sakagawa has agreed to serve on Central City Concern’s Board of Directors, bringing with her a great depth of expertise on issues confronted daily by CCC’s workforce. Her compassion, strategic thinking, and drive for excellence helps us provide the best possible services to thousands," said CCC Board Chair Jonathan Radmacher.
“I believe in the power, beauty and restorative nature of human connection,” Sakagawa said. “I’m excited about actively engaging with the members of our community that CCC serves. I’m humbled and inspired by the dedication of this organization and look forward to contributing all that I can to their important work.”
Caresse began serving on the Central City Concern Board of Directors in September 2023.
