Empowering Oregon's Future: Providence Health Plan Backs Beat the Odds 2024

06 November 2024

Providence Health Plan (PHP) is teaming up with Stand for Children to sponsor the 2024 Beat the Odds event. This partnership is one way PHP is helping foster education, support local communities, and address access to high-quality education — a social determinant of health.

By supporting educational opportunities, students can more easily succeed academically, contributing to healthier and more resilient communities.

The Beat the Odds event will take place on Thursday, November 14, at the Sentinel Hotel, bringing together local leaders, legislators, educators, parents, and community members to celebrate inspiring high school seniors who have overcome significant obstacles to graduate on time.

Every year at the event, students are awarded with $20,000 scholarships to help make their dreams of a college degree reality.

PHP’s sponsorship of this impactful event aligns with our mission to improve the health and well-being of the communities we serve.

"By supporting events like Beat the Odds, PHP can directly invest in the future of our community here in Oregon by empowering young people through education," says Regena Frieden, Chief Administrative Officer at Providence Health Plan and Stand for Children advisory board member.
