Welcome, Scott Burton!

Providence Health Plan (PHP) is pleased to share the recent hire of Scott Burton who will serve as vice president of growth strategies. In his role, Scott will lead channel engagement and oversee growth of core PHP business.

A dynamic leader with more than a decade of health care knowledge and experience, Scott approaches business development strategies with a strategic vision to design and implement multi-year strategies that deliver substantive results.

“Providence has sent a clear message to the market that they are seeking to put high-quality, value-based care into the hands of more and more members every day,” said Burton, “I’m thrilled to join this Mission-driven organization and talented caregiver workforce to help realize that future of growth.”

Brad Garrigues, chief sales & underwriting officer at PHP said, “I am excited for the wealth of experience and knowledge that Scott brings to our team. His leadership will be invaluable as we shape and execute our expansion and growth plans.”

Most recently, Scott served as the director of commercial sales and national account revenue for a Northwest health plan. In that role he was responsible for growth and market strategies that resulted in coverage of two million accountable lives. He also held positions in community and business relations, and corporate communications.

Scott is an active member of the community and serves as a board member, and past chair of The Children’s Cancer Association, a Portland-based nonprofit that provides at home and in hospital music medicine to critically ill children.

Scott began his role with Providence Health Plan in May and is based out of the Oregon headquarters.
